Roger is a landscape, wildlife,

native Lexingtonian, graduated from the University of Kentucky, and
attended the University of Louisville, School of Law. After
retiring from the Federal Medicare Part B Program, having held

Acrylic and other water based
media is Roger’s medium of choice, which is used in a realistic
style, although some pieces are done with looser brush work and
color technique approaching a more impressionistic result. He
studied watercolor painting under William Zappone and Pat O’Nan, and
acrylic painting under Jerry Yamell. More recently a painting
class session conducted by James L. Crow of the American Academy of
Equine Artists was completed.
Besides participating in art
exhibits such as Art and Wildlife in Kentucky, The Audubon Society,
The Ward Foundation-American Museum of Wildlife Art, Federal and
State Duck Stamp contests and expositions, Roger has more recently
had a solo exhibit at the Central Gallery, Lexington, and has shown
work at the following exhibits: The Horse, Lexington, The Scoff
County Regional Art Exhibit, Georgetown, The V.S.A. of Kentucky,

The artist is of Scottish descent
on both sides of his family and is a member of Clan MacBain and the
Scottish Society of Louisville. He has traveled to Scotland to
play golf, and to photograph and sketch various subjects.
Roger is currently represented by the Vennel Gallery in Kelso,
Scotland where original paintings and prints of local landmarks are
for sale. Prints of the Roxburghe Hotel are for sale at the
Roxburghe Golf Course club house.
Roger regularly attends
thoroughbred races as well as local horse shows and events held at
the Kentucky Horse Park. He also has worked as an extra in
scenes filmed at Keeneland Race Course, Lexington in the recently
released movies Seabiscuit, and Dreamer, and at
Churchill Downs, Louisville in Keep Your Distance.
Besides enjoying membership in the
